Why should I spend $39 on the Whole Life Challenge?

I've been having this conversation a lot lately...so this might sound familiar. This is a pretty common question, not just for the Whole Life Challenge but it also happens with seminars, clinics, throwdowns, etc.

Fair warning...this question drives me nuts...so tighten your seat belts and get ready for a ride.

I'm going to answer that question with a question or two of my own. Why spend $40 a month at a 24hr Fitness? Why do you spend money on all your gym accessories, gloves, shoes, belts, etc.?

An even better question is why do you pay for CrossFit? If you are an athlete at any gym that is "worth" your money you are going to be dropping a considerable amount of cash each month. Trusting in the coaches and the program to guide you safely through exercises performed at high intensity with heavy things.

So answer that question for me first and then we can have an honest conversation on the matter.

Hey I get it...money doesn't grow on trees and each of us has a responsibility to make the best decision that fits our life. I'm not privy to your specifics, but I do know that a lot of people are more than happy to buy a $4 Starbucks Caramel Macchiato everyday(which is wrong for more than a few reasons). Lots of folks are fine spending $15 bucks or more to go out to lunch and dinner. Don't even get me started on weekly bar tabs...

Let's be honest here gang...the Whole Life Challenge is $39, for another hour, and breaks down to $0.69 per day...

As coaches and owners we don't have the desire, the time or the energy to waste on running programs, challenges, clinics, etc. that aren't successful and worthwhile. We have seen the amazing results of Whole Life Challenge in particular for ourselves, for our friends, family members and our community in the gym.

So let me rephrase my original question. Why spend money on your fitness, if you aren't willing to look at all the pieces of the puzzle? Exercise is only one part folks...I know this, you know this, it's common knowledge. When I get questions like the one below it makes me wonder if something isn't getting overlooked or maybe even ignored.

Why is it hard to do certain movements?

Maybe it has to do with your mobility... have you been stretching? How about your assistance work?

Why have I stopped getting stronger?

How many hours of sleep do you get a night? How about your assistance work?

Why don't I have the energy I used too?

Do you take any supplements? How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

Why aren't I losing any weight? I eat "pretty" clean.

Have you kept a detailed tally of your daily diet? How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

Why can't I gain weight?

Please refer to any of the examples above.

The Whole Life Challenge embodies a full, well rounded perspective of what personal fitness really is...a lifestyle. Sure you can drink some shakes for a few weeks and cut some lbs. but how long will that continue? Learn about your habits, make sustainable changes. It's the stuff we ignore that really hampers our progress. Plus, you get to do this with your friends. No, not just your gym friends. Get your other friends to join you too. Build in real accountability with college buddies or family from across the globe. I did it last year with pals in Australia and Illinois. It was my best Whole Life Challenge to date.

So tell me again...
