Triple Extension

Barbell training doesn't always warrant better barbell training. Sometimes you need to add a new stimulus.



With the addition of training a tire or in this case the Pig you can see Brandon easily achieves triple extension. Not quite as easily when he is just holding a barbell. The famed but elusive "triple extension" actually lives quite obviously in many of the strongman lifts. Odd shaped heavy objects make it very difficult to cheat a movement. Sacrificing form and technique will only get you so far until things get awkward and heavy. The demands on the body to move in a very specific pattern increase exponentially under these circumstances. Continued training with these tools and under these principles will only improve ones ability to move even more weight on a very efficiently designed tool like a barbell.
