Sometimes the most important thing you can do for yourself is to step outside of your own head for a moment. It’s all too easy to become mired in the restraints of being locked inside your own “self” -- the unchecked internal dialogue, the ego-clouded perception, the stories you spin. Reframing your perception and your thinking in a new context is a powerful way to clear the air and get a better view at what’s really going on.
So, do yourself a favor, take a step outside.
Ask yourself: how can I treat myself like someone I want to make happy? How can I treat myself like someone I care about and want to hold accountable? What accomplishments of mine would I celebrate in a friend? What behaviors of mine would I expect better of in a friend? What actions am I taking that would make someone proud of me?
Take on a shift in your perspective and see if you can’t shine a bright light in those dark corners.
