Workout of the Day



In any student’s journey, it is imperative to place a focused and intentional effort on understanding the basic principles and components of the subject material. In the realm of fitness, the basics are represented by movement mechanics. Mechanics are guided by the physics of the body’s movement. The positions, angles, shapes, and speed of the anatomy involved in the movement being performed define the movement’s mechanics.

The structure of how we move is critical to the efficacy of any physical practice. From crawling to running and pushing to pulling, the development of a strong foundation in mechanics will provide you with the best base of support with which to develop a proficient movement practice.

This is a place we all must begin from and return to frequently. It is the base structure in our potential for success.

  • Tempo run

    • Run 5min out

    • Return with a negative split(<5:00)

  • 5 rounds for quality

    • In an ascending ladder sequence, at tempo, perform each movement in order before moving up the ladder

      • 1-2-3-4 Australian pull-ups(2010)

      • 2-4-6-8 push-ups(2010)

      • 3-6-9-12 squats(2010)

  • Tempo run

    • Run 5min out

    • Return with a negative split(<5:00)
