Workout of the Day

I'm Right, Dammit!!!

temp-post-image

Of course I am! I'm correct in every measure...In my own mind at the very least, right? Would you have me any other way?

Oh what a perfect world we would live in if everyone just followed along with my inner monologue...

As much as that would benefit me, it would lead to a pretty boring world. I would be cut off from any really learning and growing potential. I may get frustrated at moments and "wish" that everyone would just comply with my wishes but, anyone that has had the fine pleasure of meeting my wife, will tell you that is certainly not the reality I live in. It is most definitely not a place I am looking for. Give me some diversity and now we're cooking...

I read a recent article about the battle over high bar and low bar squat training...again. Why? I couldn't give you a valid reason. I guess I wanted to see what this senior coach had to say. Guess what? It wasn't much...it was a lot of, this is the way it is because that's the way it's always been and if you don't listen to me you sir/madam are a fool.

I am a true believer in the idea that there is more than one way to skin a cat...not everyone can fit into a spreadsheet or a box. Following one program to find success isn't an reality. Truth be told it takes an open mind and a whole lot of different perspectives to make in an impact on an athlete. That's why I am constantly in the pursuit of knowledge, I want to do more and know more, so that I may help more. If I held myself and our coaches to only coaching one way, never learning to venture outside, never pursing that burning question...we wouldn't be the extraordinary place we are.

Which leads me to this...I know why I'm here and I will continue to follow a core set of principles that will allow all of us to explore and develop methods with an open mind. All within the consideration of what it is you are actually trying to achieve.

Now...How can I help you?
