Workout of the Day

Goals, Goals, Goals.

This posted started out way different. I was going to shed a little light on planning for the new year and the importance of having a good strategy.

Then I saw this in my inbox and just like a baby is attracted to anything shiny, I am a sucker for a good story. So I change directions a bit. I'll get to goal setting before the year is over...promise.

This particular story comes from Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength Youtube channel. If you don't know me very well, then you wouldn't know that I have a great degree of respect for Coach Rippetoe. He has been in the iron game for a long time, publishing tons of great information and helping to build some strong people year in and year out. If you are serious about training, yourself or others in the pursuit of strength, his book Starting Strength is a must read.

The gentleman in this video is presenting at a Starting Strength Seminar. He is discussing Recovery and Barbell training. This is a longer video but in my mind it was well worth it. The story is an amazing one and I think you all should watch it.

In fact he tells a story that is much more fitting to the title of the post than I was going to come up with.

I know what Brian's goals were. How do they stack up with yours?
